REPORTING LIVE FROM AFGE'S NSPS TASKFORCE HEADQUARTERS, 1475 Massachusetts Ave.,  Washington DC

SUBJECT:  OPERATION FAIRNESS MOBILIZATIONS GAINING INTENSITY

Following the urging of AFGE's National President John Gage to "Make this fight by all of us", DOD locals across the country gear up to ensure that NSPS is turned from the unfair, antiquated anti-employee proposal that will damage the defense mission into a fair, modern system that reflects America values and will strengthen the mission of the agency.

DAY 2 of Operation Fairness opened with dozens of locals having already committing to conducting mobilization activities within their locals.  These commitments are the results of the hard work of AFGE staff and DEFCON activists who have been calling and emailing locals asking them to mobilize in the fight for fairness in the new DOD personnel system.

DAY 2 also brings responses from AFGE activists who are volunteering to assist with these mobilization activities wherever help is needed.

OPERATION FAIRNESS is about educating workers, and putting the faces and voices of DOD workers in the minds of Congress.  Showing Congress and DOD the real people of who the proposed regulations for NSPS really hurt.

Many Members of Congress have expressed grave concern with the over reaching of DOD and OPM in designing the new personnel system and exceeding the latitude granted to DOD by Congress.  DOD and OPM on the other hand are hell bent on fixing the problems they have with their own managers, budgets, and current government regulations, court case decisions and collective bargaining agreements by just changing the rules.

It's time to serve up another reminder to both Congress and DOD, that federal employees working in DOD deserve better.  Fairness is on the menu and it's time to serve lunch.
