Docket Number: NSPS-2005-001

Reference.
Part 9901-Department of Defense National Security Personnel System, Subpart A page 7577, General Provisions, Definitions, Section 9901.103.

Section Recommending Change:
"Unacceptable performance means the failure to meet one or more performance expectations."

Recommended Change:
Change to read: "Unacceptable performance means the failure to meet one or more performance expectations that were characterized previously as an expectation(s) that may affect retention."

Rationale.
This change makes section 9901.103 and section 9901.406 (b) compatible. Section 9901.406(b) states that supervisors and managers will communicate performance expectations, including those that may affect an employee's retention in the job.
