I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. This message will be sent to both DoD and my representatives in Congress.

I have worked for DoD for over 26 years and am extremely angry with the NSPS proposals. NSPS claims to provide for a more fair and equitable pay for performance system. I can attest that I have been retaliated against over the past three years for my previous and successful equal employment opportunity involvement. I have been denied promotions. I have been denied awards. I have been removed from the bargaining unit with no justification or notice. I have had my security clearance deactivated for no reason. I have had my performance ratings lowered. I have had inaccurate performance plans. I have had inaccurate job descriptions. I have been subjected to harassment. NSPS will simply make it easier for me to be RIFd or fired, totally unjust action. Therefore, I challenge each and every Congress person to investigate the procedures for selecting individuals for promotions, granting award payments, protecting employee rights, and treating employees fairly within the Department of Defense. I challenge each and every Congressperson to seek out the voices of the individual workers who will be devastated by this system to protect their freedoms and civil rights. I challenge each and every Congressperson to do the right thing, prohibit NSPS from being implemented.
