February 26, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: Please note I deleted the form letter supplied. I am sure that you will have opportunity to read that letter from another response. First of all, I agree completely with the form letter, but I want you to remember that I am a human being. I work for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. My sixteen years with the AAFES have been wonderful. I have had the pleasure of working for great people. One of the benefits that I have enjoyed most through the years has been that I have been treated with dignity and respect. Now I have co-workers tell me that they didn?t get a raise. I am astonished and I ask them, you mean you only got cost of living allowance? No they said, ?I received no raise at all?. They of course work under the new pay for performance system. If I do not receive a raise, then my pay goes down because the cost of living does go up every year. It should also be noted that the AAFES has a wage schedule already lower than the Federal Wage Grade System (what about the ?equal pay for equal work system??). Now they have found a way to lower our pay even more. Finally, to keep my comments short, what is up with the little to no consideration for years of service? Again I see the lack of dignity and respect being given to those providing service and support to those protecting our freedom. Please restore dignity and respect to the law. And please stop degrading the value of belonging to a labor union. The government usually takes the lead when it comes to human rights!!! Sincerely,
