February 23, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: Personally, I am not pleased by the NSPS process, and I foresee problems in the future with Government personnel retention and morale. I have worked for DoD for 16 years. There are still problems getting good, college-age people into the Government. The average age of the Government workforce is pushing 50 years of age. During my tenure, I have had supervisors who could have and would have used the new pay system to reward their "favorite" employees rather than their highest performing employees. With changing standards, it will be even more difficult for good, efficient employees like me to work my duties and take care of my children and elderly parents in a manageable manner. We must work with one another not against one another in these trying times. Please reconsider supporting the NSPS. Why try to fix something that is not broken? Let's work on things that are more important together. Sincerely,
