February 28, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. This message will be sent to both DoD and my representatives in Congress. These new regulations do nothing to address the problems in civil service. Blaming the employees for the short comings of management will not make civil servents more productive and it certainly won't make our country any safer. If you want to make government more effient adopt a set of regulations that forces management to do its job, holding them accountable. These proposed regulations will only give management more opportunities to be arbitrary and capricious while they blame the workers because work is done wrong or unproductively. Sincerely,
