February 28, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: Dear Sir/Madam, I am not an employee of the federal civil service but I do wish to protest the implementation of the new NSPS system. It is unfair to the many employees that have given their hearts and their lives to fullfill their jobs duties which were assigned by their supervisors. Many have health problems related to their employment which could cause their termination under this unfair system. After years of using these employees you propose that they could be released from civil service due to work evaluations then denied any appeal for their release. The lie that has been told about civil service employees never getting fired is just that a lie. Any competent supervisor can and does discipline an enployee when their work is not satisfactory and can remove that employee for just cause. Lazy supervisors just complain that they have to put up with sorry employees. Who is the orry one? Justice will be eliminated from the work place under this new provision. You or any or your fellow legislators would not want to be mistreated and yet you would allow the very persons responsible for this governments success to be unjustly removed or disciplined. Civil service is a vital, important part of the US government and should be treated with respect not neglect Please take into consideration that your neighbor back home could be a civil servant and their futures are in your hands. Please stop this system from destroying hard working peoples lives. Part of your job is to protect this country not tear it down. Please help us protect the employees that have given their working lives to this country. Sincerely,
