February 24, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. This message will be sent to both DoD and my representatives in Congress. I have worked for DoD for years. I am angry that these proposals seem to treat the employees who help defend our country as the enemy. Many of us here on McGuire AFB are veterans. I do not want to be in the military or be treated like I am in the Military. That is what this new system does. I don't understand how I as a union rep negotating a work schedule for people who have lives, children, spouses who work is hurting our national security. No one has been able to answer this or any other basic question about how we union reps are so hurting our national security that all of our most basic rights are being taken away. Maybe the Secretary and the Director should come to McGuire AFB and work under these conditions for a week and see how it feels, what it does to moral...... Sincerely,
