Dear Ma'am or Sir: I am a RN, GS-11 at Wilford Hall and I am concerned how our pay is going to be affected. As a nurse, I have never received fair and equitable pay for the degree of responsibility I have. My care directly impacts outcome. I am held to standards by the State Board of Nursing as well as other regulating agencies; i.e. American Academy of Pediatrics, Assoc. of Women & Obstetrics, etc. My practice is a privilige not a guarantee and I take it very serious and I always provide the best care possible. However, my supervisor is never around and does not deliver patient care at the bedside. Thus, I am concerned about how my service is going to be rewarded to entice me to stay with this Agency. Also, currently there is no money for RNs to obtain continuing education hours although we are required to obtain 20 hours per year to renew our license and to provide state of the art care to our patients. Lastly, what about Nursing degrees? There are 2 year, 3 year, 4 year, and Masters which nurses have obtained. Will we be rewarded for advancing our education? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you on the above. Sincerely,
