March 10, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: Dear Sirs: I have been a DOD employee for over 25 years. I am concerned about the proposed NSPS changes to the current Civil Service System. Everyone I know agrees that under the current CS system, things are not always easy, but why scrap the whole system that has taken years to build. Many if not all of my colleagues agree changing the system to allow for easier recruitment, hiring, rating, promotion, reduction, and firing would be great. Why not work with the current system to see if it can be revamped before a complete overhaul is commissioned? Would this not be more cost effective with the current budget constraints? All DOD employees support help ing change things for the better. Give us a chance. Sincerely,
