March 9, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. This message will be sent to both DoD and my representatives in Congress. I am prior active duty and continue to serve as a Govt. contractor at one of 'the BIG FIVE" Intelligence Agencies. I say welcome to the real world! I see more waste, fraud and abuse than any one tax payer should ever see...daily. The way contractors and all other non Government employees are treated is an outrage, all while having no real accountability for themselves. This is done all because "I'm Government and your not." People with this type of attitude are not due the special treatment they have trusted will always be there. I work 10 times harder for a better, more secure country than most, and am proud to do so. I fight for promotions, pay raises, and not working so much overtime. It truly is the 'American Way.' Welcome to it! ANNUAL PAY RAISES Welcome to the real world! "FRIEND OF THE SUPERVISOR" PAY SYSTEM Welcome to the real world! SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME Welcome to the real world! CIVILIAN DEPLOYMENT Their Government employees! Welcome to the real world! My intention of not agreeing with your bleeding heart comments on how this will undermind war efforts and other DOD functions is not so much an attack on DOD as it is to all Federal Government employees. It's about time! Sincerely,
