March 10, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. This message will be sent to both DoD and my representatives in Congress. Issues addressed: Annual Pay Raises ?Friend of the Supervisor? Pay System Schedules and Overtime Deployment This is ludicrous. Putting these types of decisions in the hands of management is an invitation to pandering, back biting, throat cutting etc. When you work for gov. job and pay security should be a given. Otherwise why not work in the private sector instead? If government wants to attract the best employees, they need to support the ones they have. Equity theory clearly states that individuals will be productive to the level they perceive benefits. Reduced benefits=reduced productivity. QUIT BUTCHERING THE SYSTEM!! And isn't it bad enough that military families are being put at risk? Now DoD families will also be put at risk? What cost are we willing to pay to bring DEMOCRACY to other countries? Our own? Where is your family tonight? I'll bet they're not in Iraq! GIVE ME A BREAK!! Sincerely,
