March 14, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I am a Printing Specialist and Union President at the Dept. of Interior, Bureau of Land Management, in. I oppose the new NSPS system for DOD. This system should not be implemented for any agency, let alone government-wide. It has too many holes, idiosyncracies, blatent gaps of information, misleading information, etc. I have been working with our agency on negotiating a proposed 5-tier Performance Management System. The 5-tier has many holes in it also. The current administration is out to get Federal Employees and is trying to take away their rights. This is wrong and we should NOT stand for it as Federal Employees. My wish is ALL Federal Employees would join their local Union and assist them in voicing their views against these systems. My hope would be also that Federal Employees would finally WAKE UP & realize the benefits the Union provides them, free of charge for most (most are "free-loaders", who do nothing but want and whine). You don't expect to go to a lawyer or doctor and not pay for their service, so why should everyone receive free representation? If ALL Federal Employees were part of the Union, as PAYING MEMBERS, the national levels would have even more bargaining power; as it is, they are fighting for us all the time. Please, everyone, talk to your Union Official(s) or get a Union if you don't have one....it is your right and you need to NOT be passive...be PRO-ACTIVE...IT IS YOUR FUTURES and maybe your childrens!!!!!! Sincerely,
