March 15, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I am writing today to notify you that we do not need the NSPS system. Currently my supervisor is allowed to lie about hard working employees and he already doesn't have to prove his words. This supervisor has been allowed to tell blatant lies for the past 8 years. He has even told the Local 1380 that he has no knowledge of the employees duties yet he can with hold promotion and awards for 8 years and counting. Supervisors today already hold the trump cards to ruin a fantastic employee. We don't need NSPS to do that. NSPS will allow each supervisor the ability to build little empires of employees they favor instead of treating all employees with respect and professionalism. My supervisor has yet to treat any of his employees with respect or professionalism. Yet NSPS makes him a "God" and grants him powers to judge when he himself is a snake. Please stop the NSPS as it is known now. Let the current system do its job that it has done for years. Protect the employees that serve our country with pride. In my opinion there are currently NO systems in place to protect the employee's rights. The Local 1380 let me down numerous times, EEO is a joke at our installation. Federal Courts are also a joke. Leave the Federal Employees alone and let us do our jobs we volunteered to take on. Most of us are proud to work for the federal Government. Will we all be able to say that when NSPS comes on board? Please vote against NSPS and give us a program that will protect our rights a citizens and hard working employees. Give us a system whereby management is held accountable for their actions and make them prove unfair allegations instead of hiding behind a title and a tablet. Managers are overpaid and need scaled back to fewer levels of mangment. That will save money for the taxpayers. Why do we need several layers of managers to accomplish what one or two levels at the most can already accomplish. Also we need to clean house at the upper layers. I understand at our installation we have several GS14/15 people that don't interface with others yet working on non mission critical jobs in private offices---why? We are paying people to work on project and functions that serve no purpose and have no deadlines yet we are paying premium dollar. IS there an opening for my boss? I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. I have worked for DoD for 20 +years. I am angry that these proposals seem to treat the employees who help defend our country as the enemy. I work hard and amcommitted. I believe that mistreating the employees will hurt the agency?s mission. I am very upset by NSPS. This system will change the way workers are paid, evaluated, promoted, fired, scheduled, and treated. Sincerely,
