March 16, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: II write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). As a Federal employee I have worked for Defense Contract Management Command for 18 years and have been proud to do so. Each morning I remind myself of why I do the work I do and I would like to add my personal mission statement that I think may say everything I need to say. And it goes like this: WE have children, family, friends and fellow countrymen who do not (at this time) have the freedom to enjoy the safety of living on American soil. they are expecting ME to do everything within my power to see that (they) come home safe and well. I do NOT intend to let the DOWN! IT is NOT important if any of us believe in the issues that have taken them from their homes and placed them in harm way, what is important is that (each and everyone of us) owe these protectors of freedom (AT THE VERY LEAST) the security of knowing that (THEIR) expectation (THAT) we will do, all that we can do, to bring them home alive and in one piece, is not misplaced. I intend to live up that expectation!!! You are welcome to join me, though you do not have to. BUT please either way PLEASE DO NOT HINDER ME. This would HINDER ALL of us. WE need work rules that preserve fairness and SERVES ALL the American people and RESPECTS the RIGHTS of the DEPARTMENT of DEFENSE WORKERS. Please hear our voices. Sincerely,
