March 16, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I want to express my concerns as a DoD Employee. I have served on Active duty and know what it feels to be on a US Navy Ship in the Gulf. I wasn?t where I am now five or ten years ago. I am open to new challenges and acceptable to change. If the DoD does not need my talents and experience and does not want to take care of all or other DoD employees. Then that?s what they want to do. If NSPS does not want to recognize employees for their performance and excellent work ethics, then I see that the DoD will have to pay more into training the new employee. For the annual pay raises, if I have to utilize the Buddy system with my supervisor then I will. If that is a requirement for advancement and pay raises, then that is the rules. I will follow and obey orders. If that is the direction to be bumped up and it is at the wave of the finger from the immediate supervisor, I will work 120% more than what I have to do on a normal business day. If I know what I am doing for a job deserves to paid more, then I will put in a request and put a slip in the suggestion box. I do understand that the Military has a deficit. Once the war is over, then things go back to normal. Will DoD Civilian employees have authorization to utilize commissary and Navy Exchanges in the future? If civilian employees have a hardship and are unable to afford housing, will there be (if there isn?t) programs or Navy housing approval for Navy Civilian?s? In the future will employees, being new hires, have to have a degrees to be hired into Management Positions? Sincerely,
