March 16, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). The proposed regulations, known as the National Security Personnel System (NSPS), were printed in the Federal Register on February 14, 2005. This message will be sent to both DoD and my representatives in Congress. I look around and see that we are all products of the existing system. It seems that NSPS will empower the current leaders. I do not see how NSPS will alter people's conceptions of their work. If the leaders are not excellent role models, the system will not work. I see very few excellent leaders on the civilian side. I see leaders that have been promoted because noone could stand them anymore or they made too many mistakes. The NSPS is blind to these people already in charge. I agree that we should be paid our worth. However, if the supervisors are tainted, how can fair pay be given? Sincerely,
