March 15, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I write to express my concerns about changes to work rules in the Department of Defense (DoD). I am concerned that a number of other federal workers that I know from Tennessee and other states--- were not aware that : 1) there is a new system called NSPS or 2) that they are approaching the deadline to comment on it. That doesn't say much for this process or the implementation of it. There has not been enough information disseminated to everyone so that they can give an educated opinion---for or against the new plan. I would like to see a survey that would allow us to get an idea of the percentage of employees that are aware of the coming changes, and how many are for/against. I am also concerned that if civilian workers become "deployable assets" that you will not be able to retain quality employees or be able to recruit new employees that will make the federal government a career choice.
