March 15, 2005 DoD NSPS Comments , DoD NSPS Comments: I am a 32+ year DoD employee and am very concerned about the new NSPS system. We will have no protection or rights and worse off than when I started in 1972. In an ideal world, supervisors would treat employees fairly and rate them based on their actual performance. We don't live in an ideal world though. Personalitys enter into the mix and some people can't act in a professional manner. I am a GS-11 and in a professional series Most DoD employees work hard and are committed. Government employees are definitley more concerned with how the job gets done. I believe that this massive change will hurt the agency?s mission. This system changes the entire picture. Kind of our word against the supervisors. Very distrustful. I urge all our representatives in Congress and all our Senators please revisit this, once done it will be very hard to change back. A lot of expertise will be lost and who will want to work in this type of environment. My husband and I are both dedicated Civil Servants. When our son was graduating from college I urged him to to seek employment elsewhere because I knew this was on the horizon. How pitiful that he saw how dedicated his parents are and he couldn't have the same type of career. Sincerely,
