I am an apprentice in Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The NSPS plan sounds like it will work but their are some things that I do not believe have been covered. In the shipyard we work for the project or ship although we are assigned the a production shop. This means that we could work for a different supervisor at any time. If the supervisor gives us our performance rating for our pay raise how will this be governed if we work for four or five different supervisors in a short time period? I also have questioned the way the disciplinary actions will be handled? I have never had a problem with discipline but in the event that it would arise I would like to know that I would be heard and have a chance to appeal if not satisfied with the outcome. I personally would like to see things stay the way they are because there are just too many questions that come into play not just from me but also from the one's answered on this site.
