Pay banding does not handle the problem same pay increase for different levels of performance. I have been this type of program for around 20 years. As a topped out DP III, the pay increase awarded has been independent of my performance rating for around 10 years. Although my rating have ranged from superior to ourstanding the pay increases are the same as those I would have received if I had obtained satisfatory ratings.
