I do not believe that new National Security Personnel System will be to our advantage. I am a government employee, have been for 15 years and hopefully another ten or eleven until I retire. I do not believe a system such as this is fair to those of us that have not only worked for the government many years but also as most of us have put everything into making DFAS look it best and be the BEST. I myself put in 8 to 10 hours a day making sure that payments and adjustments get processed in a timely manner. The cost of living goes up each year and to leave that in the hands of DOD well we might as well step back 10 years or so as we will never see one again. That is why military personnel are just now up to par on pay thanks to President Bush. My husband was in the military and we barely made enough to support three childrens, car payments, etc. Pay Band I believe that the pay band should not rely on the availability of funds or the that only one person be delegated to manage or distribute the pay pool. MY performance which has been pretty exceptional up to date should not be affected just because my supervisor decided to give me an award instead of my cost of living raise as well. Also, what is this part of where my supervisor can opt to give my an award instead of a pay increase and the mount of my payout at retirement will not grow. I have worked to hard in getting my retirement built up and now you want to come along and mess it up just because DOD has decided we are behind in the times.
