TRAINING: I noted that in the Fact Sheet, dated 2-10-05, one thing that will not change is training. That's sad, because it is currently underfunded and ignored for a vast majority of us who work in support roles. As an automation resources manager, I have received almost no training in over ten years. In today's automation security environment, training is essential to success and mission security. Support personnel are taken for granted every day. Continue to ignore us, and the mission capability of our armed forces will slowly topple. When we who are approaching retirement begin our exodus, you will lose instituitional knowledge and a work ethic that you will find difficult to replace. Leave the new employees untrained, and see what happens in five or six years. Attendance at some form of training, seminar, or expo should be funded and mandatory on an annual basis, at a minimum.
