I know that most people do not agree with the new plan. However, I have been in private industry workforce before and this is how pay raises work. In the federal government it is currently different and everyone wants it to stay that way. I don't. I am all for the new plan. I put forth my best effort and strive to learn new things and do them well. I always get recognition, however I can not go up in pay because of a job well done with the current system. Yet, there are people who make much more money than me and I am showing them how to do their jobs. Is it fair that high grades get to sit back and let the lower grades do all the leg work, then take home a better paycheck. No. The new plan will allow the worker bees to be compensated for a job well done. Also the slackers who sit in the shadows will remain where they are without the benefits. I know there will be management pets, and shady deals for certain people doing inappropriate favors for higher grades, but that goes on now with promotions in grade. Maybe this will nip some of the b----s---- in the bud. I am just upset to see that it is going to be implemented with the GS personnel first. GS already make more in pay than a WG, imagine how far ahead they will be when the WG's get a chance to prove themselves. It should be implemented for both pay scales at the same time.
