Here’s a few things to consider based on almost 17 years of experience. With few exceptions the entire management chain all the way to the top is incompetent. If NSPS is dependent on these managers for implementation it’s going to be a real disaster. They are bureaucrats that have never had to deal with reality in their entire career. Almost every idea that comes from the top down just wastes our time and reduces our efficiency. NSPS could just be more of the same. They created an entire division of bureaucrats called EN that contributes nothing towards the mission. All I’ve seen from them is mandated training requirements that just waste our time without any consideration of our on the job requirements. The goals of NSPS are admirable, but it isn’t going to contribute anything to our National Security. If it does squeeze a little more productivity out of the work force the bureaucracy will just waste the savings somewhere else. If they can plug that $400 billion deficit hole then I’ll believe they are serious about saving money. The taxpayers aren’t going to see a dime out of the conversion to NSPS. We may waste more time implementing NSPS than we will ever save. We already had several briefings on NSPS and they don’t seem to know anything about the details. The devil is always in the details.
