I am concerned about three issues 1. Raises 2. Training 3. Favortism toward certain employees 1. Is any certain group going to recieve a much higher raise than any other group. I am more concerned about Congress than any other group. It has been assumed by some that Congress every year give themselves a much higher raise than any other Federal Organization. I dont have facts available but if thats true isnt that rather unethical? 2. Training in the area I work has been pretty much a hodge podge affair with an outdated OJT book. When I first started in 1998 in my present job the training was fairly effective. With too many changes over the last 7 years in ARPC I cant say the same any more. 3.I am wondering if going to a pay banding system may result in a "buddy mentality"among some supervisors in rewardng more the people they like instead of rewarding those who are more productive. I would like to think supervisors as a whole would not resort to picking favorites but with the age of automated systems usually that means less people more work. Unfortunately some who dont want to work harder may be tempted to work around the system through their boss to avoid work but still look good to the Mgmt. I realize that there are lazy and conceintious workers in very organization but with more work the more conscientious workers might justifiably feel under appreciated and overworked in a work place where a few employes are given better appraisals not because of what they know or what they do;it is because of who they know
