Comments not representative of my place of employment, the Air Force or DoD. The proposed Pay/Compensation changes do not provide for differing scopes of practice and acuity for different jobs. There should be stipends considered for GS employees that work in higher acuity, hard to fill areas, such as critical care nursing. With our increasing number of deployments, the GS presence is ever so crucial and we must retain the best qualified. There should be compensation and/or stipends offered for those GS nurses who take the extra step to become certified - demonstrating their expertise within their speciality area. In addition, LVNs (GS employees) who work in an ICU should be paged higher than a counterpart GS employee that works in a lower acuity area. Will these proposed regulations address these differences between GS employees that may share the same pay grade? Not all GS' are the equal, so can we provide for salary accordingly?
