Table 1 - Sample Classification Structure Eliminating the GS grade structure is paramount to eliminating the rank structure in the military. All company grade officers would wear one rank, all field grade another single rank and all general officers, one star. What would the military be like if you didn't know the difference between a major and a full colonel? Well, a GS civilian does not wear rank, but the people in the office know what grade he is, and it is a source of pride to be a GS 13; 14; or 15. This type of eglatarianism will be detrimental to morale and the desire to attain higher status. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND RETAINING THE GS GRADE STRUCTURE. Thank you for your attention.
