For many of us our direct supervisors are military personnel. Many of the military supervisors are being constantly replaced annually with little or no turnover between supervisors. Page 7562 Vol 70 N029 How will this work when supervisors have no knowledge of past performance and no way to judge our level of performance over any length of time? Case in point here at USPACOM I have had 8 military supervisors in ten years. A board of mixed level Civil Servants peers from different organizations throughout each command should be appointed to review all performance appraisals for final approval. Page 7563 Vol 70 N029 What checks and balances are in place to prevent supervisors from trying to remove current federal workers and hiring retired military or friends into high paying positions? Seems there should be stipulations of hiring ex military into civil servant positions for a period of 1 year.
