I am writing to you to express my annoyance on this "NSPS" Personnel System. To link these wholesale changes with so called "national security" is a bald faced lie. This is and has always has been a plan, brought to us by Donald Rumsfeld, that is based on getting rid of the Civil Service. What you are really trying to do is create a system that un-does all of the good things that Federal Workers rely upon. You are breaking apart a system that already works just fine. As it is, the Unionized Civil Service has the authority to protect the men and women who give their all to support all of our Armed Services. And they have always done so. They are used to making a great deal less money than the business world counterparts. But the honor and pride that they have is more than enough to make up for the lower salaries. What the NSPS is trying to do is to put the power in the hands of the precious few to give a few "old boys network" some more dollars. In the long haul it is just going to be a slap in the face of the great workforce that slaves along day by day to support the Federal Government. I urge all related parties (voting or otherwise) to denounce this NSPS in the strongest wording possible. It is nothing but a sham. Oh...and one last thing. I am not a member of the Civic Service either. But I do see the sacrifices that my spouse makes day in and day out and the great work of all of her co-workers in the Civil Service.
