Pay For Performance - Where are the checks & balances to preclude unfair treatment and/or appraisal? With my current military boss, I don't foresee a problem, but it could be a significant problem in the future with a different boss meaning; in my current position if the boss and I have a disagreement over a variety of issues "does that mean I'm a poor performer when in fact I'm doing what I get paid to do? This is called the "real" world to get penalized for doing what's right rather than a popularity contest.
