Currently, anytime an organization suffers a budget cut the first thing to go are the awards followed by training and travel. Higher management will continue to get their awards, but now the lower tier workers will not receive any awards and with these changes, will not even receive their WIG increases. If you work for an organization that believes in fiscal responsibility their workers will be left out in the cold when in comes to pay increases while other organizations will give even there marginal employees awards. A high performing employee is not always the most popular employee. They still will not receive the rewards they deserve. This new system will do nothing to rectify this problem. Many employees are under utilized or not given the opportunity to excel. There are also employees that do not self promote their achievements as well as other. These two types of employees will miss out on any new rewards program designed to reward high performers. These are all problems that exist today, but will be exacerbated with the implementation of these new rules.
