HIRING FLEXIBILITIES AND NEW HIRING PROCEDURES: First of all, I am a retired, disabled civil service employee and Vietnam Veteran, that is very capable of performing work duties. I am presently work for a government contractor. It is my desire and others that I talked with also, to see DOD and OPM make changes in its hiring practices to make it easier and allow for the rehiring of former employees in all job classifications. There are many former employees that would like to return to civil sefvice work especially since 911and the fact that trerroism is wide spread as it is and worse than anytime in the past. Also, I possess a US Department of State Top Secret and DOD Secret clearances and would like very much to get into the security field as a personnel security background review specialist or as a Imagery, all source intelligence specialist. To gain the experience in the intelligence field I would require training to do so and I would like to see DOD/OPM change their rulres on this and allow folks as me to get into training. I am retired from civil service as a logistics specialist and trying very hard to become reinstated. I am not not having much luck with this however, and I don't understand why not. Thank you.
