FOR THE PAST 31 YEARS PLUS 2 YRS OF AD STATUS AS A PHYSICIAN I HAVE FAITHFULLY SERVED THE MILITARY COMMUNITY HERE AT WILLIAM BEAUMONT ARMY MEDICAL CENTER AT FORT BLISS, TX. I HAVE SEEN THINGS FOR CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES CHANGE AND HAVE ROLLED WITH THE PUNCHES THROUGH THICK AND THIN. THIS CURRENT CHANGE IN THE SYSTEM IS ALMOST MORE THAN THE NORMAL HUMAN BEING SHOULD BE FORCED TO SWALLOW. YOU MAY SAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT -LEAVE. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE MAJOR PORTION OF THE MILITARY TREATMENT FACILITY. YOUNG DOCS WHO ARE DOING PAY BACK ARE REQUIRED TO WORK HERE. WE ARE AT THE MERCY OF THE ITINERATE PHYSICIANS WHO CAN NOT FIND WORK ELSEWHERE SO THEY SEEK GOVERNMENT POSITIONS. THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN IN FOR THE LONG HAUL ARE UNABLE TO LEAVE OR CHANGE FOR RETIREMENT PURPOSES. WE ARE IN MY PERCEPTION GOING TO THE "GOOD OLE BOY" SYSTEM IN THAT IF YOU ARE LIKED BY YOUR SUPERVISOR YOU ARE FINE BUT IF BYCHANCE YOU ARE NOT ON THE GOOD SIDE YOU HAVE HAD THE COURSE. SEEMS LIKE A SYSTEM WHICH IS NOT BASED ON PERSONALITY QUIRKS AND HONESTY WOULD BE MORE EQUITABLE. I AM NOT A KISS UP PERSON!!! IF THE SYSTEM PERVADES TO THE UPPER RANKS OF SUPERVISORS WHO DO NOT LOOK AT WHAT YOUR LAST NAME IS TO GIVE YOU A MORE RESPONSIBLE POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION-IT MIGHT JUST WORK. HONESTY IN PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TO SUCCEED. I LOVE MY WORK AND WORK VERY HARD I WOULD HATE TO THINK OR BELIEVE THAT THE GOVERNMENT I HAVE SUPPORTED FOR SO LONG WOULD SLAP ME IN THE FACE. THANK YOU FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE MY CONCERNS
