I do believe changes are needed. It seems that the success of these changes relies on competent managers at the grass roots level. I think it would help if upper management would weed out the managers that are already making comments ie, " I can't wait for this new system to start so I can start firing people." or " When this new system starts, it will pay people to kiss my butt to get an award." As long as upper management leaves these types of managers in charge, and gives them the next thing to ABSOLUTE power, then the workers will strongly resist this change. No amount of training will change the attitudes of managers such as these. As of this time, it seems upper management does not want to deal with this problem. How can the average worker accept these changes when upper management seems indifferent to the workers future.
