I say it's about time that something was done to improve a system that is so out of date! I totally agree with the pay raise system that will come with NSPS. There are entirely to many employees that get raises, bonuses, and time off awards that are not deserving. The employees just expect it and when they are denied they run to the Union. To many employees hide behind the Union using it as a shield to deflect a substandard annual review or counciling. They don't like what they read and file a grievance. There are so many instances of the most rediculous grievances filed. For example, a new microwave was put in place in the breakroom of a department and a grievance was filed by one of the workers because she didn't know how to use it! These things are actually entertained and cost manpower hours to negotiate! Give me a break! If I were hired the same day as a co-worker to do the same type of job and the co-worker performed at a substandard capacity compared to my work we would get the same pay raise as though we produced the same quailty of work due to the GS step increase system. That is not fair. This new concept will be fair and I can't wait for it to happen! As far as the picketers are concerned here on our post they can keep their flyers. Step out from behind the Union and be accountable for your job performance for a change. You just might develope some positive characteristics that will make you the employee deserving of the job and pay raise you so think you deserve.
