Comments:

The NSPS brings radical changes to civil service as we presently know it. The younger a person is the more radical the changes will be in their career (particularly in the financial area). It is possible that the comments they make can help shape the NSPS for the better. There are many comments already posted on the NSPS web site, but so far they represent less than 1 percent of the civilian DOD work force that will be effected. The crafters of our future personnel system say they are listening. I think we should believe them and participate with our comments. I have already made several comments myself, but they are not yet listed. As I wait for my comments to be listed I am enjoying the viewpoints of the many people who are sharing their thoughts and experiences. I am particularly interested in the thoughts and experiences of those who have already experienced pay banding in one of the various demo projects. If they could use that experience to reflect on the current NSPS regulations I think we could gain from that knowledge in understanding the NSPS Personnel System that is coming. Whether your opinions are for or against the new system please share your views and help shape the NSPS. It is your future. Make it a good one. joe.newman@robins.af.mil
