First, let me make it clear- I strongly oppose this new personnel system. There are many reasons why I am averse to it; the main one being that management will have full control over the employee's life. I would hate to think that the manager I have now had that much control. An example being that the supervisor I have now does not even know what I do on a day to day basis. Scary, don't you think? Of course, there are always brown-nosers in every organization and this new system will breed a new group. I am close to retirement and will not be affected as badly as some of my fellow employees, but it will hurt the people who have the years of service and not the age. To lose your senority is a very bad thing. It tells me that all the years I put into my organization didn't mean a whole lot. Do you think I want to be deployed to God knows where just like one of the military. If I did, I would have joined the military long ago. And how about the cost of living raises we will no longer be receiving--is the Government going to put a halt on the increases in our health insurance that always takes the cost of living raises we get? I won't hold my breath for that one. Is the military going to continue to get the cost of living raises? There are too many unanswered questions. Why don't you just be honest and say what you really mean-you would like to get rid of all the DOD employees and hire all contract. Well, I have seen some of your contract workers and that's scary, too. The management in my organization is very poor from the supervisor all the way to the top. And to think that you would put that much power in these peoples hands is beyond belief. You're dreaming!!!
