Subpart A sec 9901.344(b) states that an employee who receives an EPI will be expected to maintain that extraordinarly high level of performance in the future. What happens if the employee finishes his current work and does not receive another project that allows him to continue his exceptional performance? For reasons beyond his control, he is not able to continue performing at that high level, yet he is at risk to receive an unacceptable performance rating.
