Pay For Performance seems to be a further threat to a secure retirement. It has been said that rewarding individuals with higher pay leaves less money for the government to pay into the TSP matching and social security for all federal employees. For those of us with 20 years or more left to retire, this is a significant problem. Compounding this is the prediction that social security will fail for the next generation of federal workers. In all probability, the pay for performance plan will cause the social security system to fail even sooner than predicted, today. Pay For Performance is going to lead to an office enviornment of the 1950(s) of having to "impress ' the boss with personal favors and home cooked meals to get ahead.
