I'm scheduled to receive a pay step increase in July. If NSPS is implemented in July how will that affect my step increase? My concern is that my activity will not be able to fund raises for its employees where as now it required to do so. Basically the head of the activity may stop all raises to make himself/herself look good to their superiors. Doesn't management have the ability to reward top performers now? ie promotions, QSI step increases? In my organization 3 or 4 people out of 100 get a QSI (equivalent to a $1.00/hr raise). What makes you think this new system will be any better in rewarding top performers? I foresee that when NSPS is implemented it will create a dog vs dog atmosphere where a co-worker may not want to help another worker, thereby letting him/her fail thereby making themselves look better. Let the present pay system stand!
