The new pay banding policy is terrible. The General Schedule should be retained. Eployees can't plan their finances when they don't know how much money their going to get. Also there will be plenty of budget problems within agencies to preclude emplyees from getting pay-for-performance raises. Lousey bosses will not reward good workers, but will reward their "buddies; " and good workers will get fired because there will no longer be job security. The Federal Government is a non-profit organization and should not be set up like a for-profit corporation. Mr. Gage, the union president for civil service workers in Wash D.C. hates this plan also and with good reason as stated above.
