I am concerned over the pay issue changes and the ending of automatic step/grade increases! We have also been told that cost of living raises could also be limited or paid out to only 10 or 20 % of the work force. I do not like us returning to the good ole boy way and that is what we will be doing if we adopt these changes. Only the "favorite" employees will see raises and the favorites are not always the hard chargers or the people who are truly deserving! I guess pay on performance is fair but not always. What if no money is available to reward all who are entitled or once again only the select few always seem to get the raise! I am also concerned with the potential downgrading in salary issue and also employees will be able to be fired with little recourse! This seems unfair after years of service. I am by no means a union guy but it seems under the new system, employees will have very few rights! This also seems to be a big step backward..
