I have been a federal employee for 28 years. I am also injured. I do my job and I believe I do it well. However I am not a "fair haired" child of the system. Pay banding will ensure managers get higher pay increases while the workers who actually do the work would get pay decreases. Pay banding will allow abuse of the system such "friends and fair haired people" will be given the pay increases. My security in my job of 28 years will be diminished. If for whatever reason a supervisor does not like you they'll be able to demote you, not necessarily based on job performance. My injury will always be used against me. Why would anyone promote an injured person? Please do not open the door for further discrimination. I have struggled to attain my current pay grade, I don't want to lose it just because of budget constraints, poor management practices etc. If there is a problem with the old system, fix it.
