RIF - Please re-consider putting performance, above years of service for GS employees when determining who stays or goes. Don't get me wrong, performance should be a big part. Why can't performance and years in service count equally, those employees that perform well and have many years of service will be kept. Dedicated employees time should count for them at an equal level as performance. Employees put a lot of years in civil service toward the goal of retirement one day. Lets not make it easy to get rid of older employees close to retirement; The private sector does this all the time so they won't have to pay retirement benifits to those older employees. Pay - Please insure once an employee receives a pay increase due to performance or any other reason, that that pay increase in not able to be taken away. Once a increase in pay is given to the employee, the pay should stay at that level till the next increase. Thanks for reading this.
