My opion is not going to benifit SHIPYARD employees. The shipyard personnel are special people and they have being kick around for the last ten years. Every time someone wants to try a new system they try it on the Shipyard workers. The worse thing no one will admit that they are wrong and go back to the old system. This system use to be a stable place to work and now you don't wether you we be work one year or five years. How can the new empolyees raise families and work in place for thirty years? The way things have been going every four years some company gets a great idea and mess up the entire system. When I came in this GREAT SHIPYARD(1971) it was pleasure to work here and would recommend it to all my friends. Now I would not recommend it to my worse enemy. This was a non-profit NAVAL SHIPYARD and now we are competing for jobs from money hungry contractors. They don't care about our vessels or wether they sink or what ever just as long as they get paided. As far as I'am concerned that like comparing steak dinner to a salad. DO NOT COMPARE US WITH ANY OTHER TYPE OF PEOPLE, IT TAKE SOMEONE SPECIAL TO STAY IN A JOB FOR THIRTY YEARS AND HOPE TO GET A LITTLE RETIREMENT. If these changes keep coming they will not have SHIPYARD much longer.
