I think the Pay Band system is a giant step backwards. I've heard the term "good ol' boy system" used relative to the Air Force's old APR and newer EPR systems. This new Pay Band system will move our present "pay for experience" system in the direction of the "good ol' boy" system in my opinion. I know, the "pay for performance" theme sounds good, but then, so did the new EPR system for the Air Force at first. Many of my friends careers suffered because they had supervisors who believed the garbage we were fed initially. Soon afterward, as you know, that system too became inflated. I ask that you reconsider and keep the present pay system. Sincerely, Mr. Rickey L. Slone Proud GS-09, Step 04 EP Instructor Keesler AFB, MS
