Many people at Lackland AFB, TX attended a town hall meeting on the new National Security Personnel System (NSPS) on Tuesday, 1 Mar 05. It was obvious from the question/answer session at the end of the presentation that many issues need to be resolved. On the majority of questions presented, Ms Lacey (SES-POC for NSPS) indicated that the issues were either currently being looked at or would be looked at. There should be no rush to implement a program of this magnitude without clear-cut answers as to how changes/issues will affect the employees. Although I am far from retirement, it appears that the new system has possible makings of age discrimination, especially those under the old retirement system (CSRS).
