This new system is going to give management power to make or brake an employee's financial stake. No more cost of living increases? How are we supposed to pay our bills when everything else goes up but our paycheck? Pay increases based on performance, performance being who can brown-nose management the best and stay on their good side. The performance mgt syst requiring supervisors to set clear expections and hold employees accountable . . . supervisors don't hold themselves up to this system, they never are held accountable. The supervisors we have are totally inept and powermongers. It's all politics. They don't do their job, they don't know how to be a supervisor. If you are outspoken, trying to do the job correctly instead of the way mgt wants it, you are on the black list and won't be getting any raises. I read that we can now be deployed on a moments notice to anywhere in the world. I am not military, I did not join the military. Who is supposed to take care of my home and animals? I'm a single homeowner. What about those with families? Not to mention the fact that if your supervisor doesn't like you he may just have you deployed somewhere. Movement through pay band based on performance, contribution - this will be nothing but the good ole boy system just like it was with the old appraisal system. People who don't perform, contribute are the ones who get the raises, awards and promotions. Or mgt gives themselves a big bonus like they did here years back. They were caught redhanded but nothing happened and they kept the money. Oh, there was an article in the paper. Performance based pay system is unfair in civil service until you can get rid of the good ole boy system. People who should get rewarded don't and those who shouldn't do. I have personal experience to back this up. I was able to file a grievance to fix it and be treated equally. Will I be able to do this after the new system is implemented? Civil service employees support our troops in the field and are dedicated people. Why is our government treating us like this? We are not the terrorists. Don't you think something is really wrong when you have 250,000 civil service and outside labor people up in arms about this new system you want to put in place?
