p 7576 definitions of performance Modify the definition to read: "Performance means accomplishment of work assignments or responsibilities." Period. Performance using this definition can be objectively evaluated. The definition as written adds to many subjective extras that will make the performace evaluation less focused at best, or worthless at worst. Having items such as "...employee's behavior and professional demeanor (actions, attitude and manner of performance) as demonstrated by his or her appraoch to completing work assignments..." to too focused on process - how the work is done, not what is done. As a supervisor, when I assigned a work package for completion, I often had an approach in mind - I knew how I would do it - but, I was often amazed at the high quality work that was done using approaches that were outside of my box. Having a definition of performance that requires doing it my way is a bad feature and should be removed
